Diet is an extremely important factor, determining up to 70%-85% of success in the body transformation process. The Calorie Deficit Diet is designed to ensure real fat loss by managing energy balance effectively and safely. We will help you lose weight/ gain muscle based on portion control. The coach will tell you how much you should consume daily based on your inbody check results to help you lose/ keep weight.

For example, a man weighing 110kg who exercises normally every day will not lose weight if he consumes about 3,100 calories per day. To lose weight safely, he should control his consumption of around 2,000 calories per day.

  • Daily Vietnamese Breakfast, or Western breakfast

The Retreat Experience

The retreat specifically emphasizes a holistic approach to well-being and weight loss/ muscle gain, going beyond just shedding pounds. Here’s what sounds particularly unique about it, focusing on aspects:

“Me” Time Focus:

  • Dedicated Space for Self-Care: A retreat inherently offers a break from your regular routine, providing dedicated time and space to focus solely on your well-being. This retreat likely structures the schedule to allow for personal reflection, relaxation, and recovery alongside the fitness activities.
  • Mind-Body Connection: The inclusion of yoga strongly suggests an emphasis on mindfulness and connecting with your body, which is a crucial aspect of “me” time and self-care. This isn’t just about physical exertion but also about inner peace and mental clarity.

Safe Weight Loss Method:

  • The Trifecta: The explicit combination of calorie deficit, work-out, and yoga aligns with a safe and sustainable approach to weight loss.
  • Calorie Deficit: Ensures actual fat loss by managing energy balance.
  • Work-out: Builds muscle (boosting metabolism) and improves cardiovascular health.
  • Yoga: Enhances flexibility, reduces stress (which can hinder weight loss), and complements the physical training.
  • Holistic and Balanced: This combination avoids extreme measures and focuses on creating a healthier lifestyle rather than a quick fix. It addresses both the physical and mental aspects of well-being during weight loss.

Cultural Immersion:

  • Saigon as the Backdrop: The explicit mention of “Saigon” indicates that the retreat leverages the unique cultural richness of Ho Chi Minh City. This likely means opportunities to experience local culture, cuisine (within a healthy context), and perhaps excursions to explore the city.
  • Beyond the Gym: Unlike a typical fitness program, this retreat seems to weave in elements of Vietnamese culture, offering a more enriching and memorable experience. This could involve trying local healthy dishes, learning basic Vietnamese phrases, or visiting cultural sites.

You will always be supported by a professional, dedicated, and friendly team of hosts, trainers, and staff during your stay.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the main goal of the retreat?
  • The main goal is to help you achieve sustainable fitness and body transformation through a combination of effective workouts, mindful movement (yoga), a balanced nutrition plan (calorie deficit), and immersion in the vibrant culture of Saigon, all while prioritizing your well-being.
What is included in the retreat?
  • Typically, this would include accommodation, guided workouts, yoga sessions, a structured meal plan (around 60-70% carbs/fat, 30-40% protein per serving), cultural activities in Saigon, support from hosts, trainers, and staff.
Is this retreat suitable for beginners?
  • Yes, these retreats are usually designed to suit a wide range of fitness levels. Instructors can often adapt the workouts to suit individual abilities. It is best to check with the specific retreat provider about their suitability for beginners or those with any physical problems.
What kind of workouts can I expect?
  • You can likely expect a mix of cardio, strength training (“work-outs”), and flexibility/mobility work through yoga. The specific types of workouts would depend on the trainers and the retreat program.
What is the meal plan like?
  • The meal plan focuses on balanced, healthy meals with approximately 60-70% of calories coming from carbohydrates and fats combined, and 30-40% from protein per serving. This aims to provide energy for workouts and support muscle recovery while creating a calorie deficit for weight loss.
Will I have any “me” time during the retreat?
  • Yes, the retreat is designed to offer a balance between structured activities and personal time for relaxation, reflection, and enjoying the retreat environment. Yoga sessions also contribute to mindfulness and “me” time.
Will I experience the culture of Saigon?
  • Absolutely! A key aspect of this retreat is cultural immersion. You can expect opportunities to explore Saigon, perhaps through guided tours, trying local (healthy) cuisine, and experiencing the city’s unique atmosphere.
What kind of support will I receive?
  • You’ll be supported by a professional, dedicated, and friendly team of hosts who can assist with logistics, experienced trainers who will guide your workouts, and staff to ensure a comfortable and supportive environment throughout your 30 days.
What should I bring with me?
  • You’ll typically need workout clothes, comfortable casual wear, swimwear (if applicable), comfortable walking shoes, personal toiletries, and any personal medications. The retreat provider usually offers a more detailed packing list.
Can I book a shorter or longer retreat?
  • Yes. Please contact the host directly. He will provide information on availability, pricing, and the booking process.
How far are fitness facilities from accommodation?
  • The fitness facilities and accommodation are located within the same residential complex. It just takes several minutes walking from your bed to classes.
  • The yoga studio is 1.6 km away, and you can walk or cycle to class from accommodation. If you would like to have a private yoga session in the hotel, the extra cost is 25 USD/session lasting 60 minutes.
How effective is the program?
  • The effect depends on how long you join the program, how hard you work out and how you eat. The more you commit, the more likely you are to get the results you want.
How often should I train?
  • The level of training varies between individuals. If you are moderate to high in fitness level, it is recommended you do two to three sessions per day. It is important you recover and rest between sessions. If, however, you are new to training we recommend a slow and easy start with one class per day, plus Yoga and a soft cardio session in the gym. After a few days we recommend you add one more class to the training routine. Get in touch for the best recommended training routine for you.

I Had a Blast
This was initially meant to be part of my HYROX race training but plans slightly changed due to a knee injury.

Post my injury, I used the trip as a part of rehab and recovery while exploring a new environment and country.

I learned to know my limits with my injury and make peace with it.

I had a blast! Although the initial intention was to train for HYROX; plans changed due to a knee injury. I changed the trip to work on my rehab and recovery while enjoying a bit of boxing (bag work days) and CrossFit (less work that puts a strain on my knee). Also loved learning about the city and culture of the Vietnamese people. The excursions were amazing - the bike tour was awesome and enjoyed the caves with Robert; we had a blast. The Mekong Delta (added extra) was also an experience.

The retreat was a little different from what I am used to. Most retreats I have been to have a structure that pushed you to participate even on days you would have rather not. But in the end, you would comply because the benefits would be worthwhile.

The whole setup of a hotel being near a gym and having a restaurant and a cool cafe inside the gym was convenient. There is a timetable for classes but there isn’t really an accountability buddy (unless you create your own). I won’t call the package a retreat per se, but more of a fitness holiday. The program doesn’t really have the usual structure most retreats have. You basically do your own thing, which can be good if you are disciplined and committed. Also worked out for me cause I could work while on holiday - had plenty of free time unless I found something to do. The nice thing is that most places are a walk away.

There is a variety of foods (on the healthy side and not so healthy side); you make the choice. Breakfast options were great! And I loved Vietnamese coffee, even brought some back home. I wasn’t as disciplined as usual in the food section - I wanted to try out and experience a different cuisine from what I was used to.

The gym had world-class equipment and technology. The trainers were awesome and accommodated me with my injury. Although I didn’t get to work long with her, I absolutely loved Rocel’s energy. She made me feel at home and less of a cripple. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

The staff at the cafe were awesome, especially Allen, she was so respectful and very helpful. She was my favorite.

The host - Tai (or Kevin as some call him) is an absolutely amazing guy. He is calm, reliable, and caring. He tries his level best to make you feel at home and will learn a hand wherever possible. I would absolutely do business or a trip with him again, he knows how you feel and treats a customer well. Thanks, Tai for the excellent service!

Would I do the trip again, Absolutely - off-season when I don’t have a race to prep for?

The Organizer Made you Feel Welcome
I was looking for a fitness boost for weightloss as well as general fitness health.

This was the only one I could find in Vietnam that was about fitness and it fitted around my travel plans.

This week made me realize that I need to do boxing when I get home. I tried CrossFit, boxing, and Mai Thai and loved boxing so much that I did it every day.

It's a full-body workout as well as a mind workout. I'm 51 and this tested me!!

The organizer made you feel welcome and did what he could to go the extra mile. The spas were amazing and the food tour on motorbikes was a great Vietnam experience. Nothing was too much trouble and he accommodated for anything you asked.

Exceptional Fitness Retreat
New found a love for boxing, better techniques for working out safely, clear mind. This program keeps you very busy throughout the day and very tired at the end of it. This makes it perfect if you're struggling with any issue or addiction.

I was looking for a 30-day retreat to disconnect and focus on fitness. While I enjoy yoga, I wanted something more demanding, and that’s when I found the Saigon Fitness and Body Transformation Retreat. If you’re interested in learning a combat sport while getting in shape, this is the perfect place for you.

The apartment suite at the Thien Ha Hotel was ideal for a fitness retreat. It featured a comfortable bed, a fully equipped kitchen, endless bottled water, and cozy furniture. The housekeeping staff were outstanding, always ensuring everything was clean and welcoming.

The hotel team truly made my stay special. Receptionists Mi, Viet, Khanh, and the rest of the staff were incredibly friendly and supportive.

The gym and training facilities at the Saigon Sports Center exceeded my expectations. Pictures don’t do justice to its quality and size. The equipment is in pristine condition, and the gym is NEVER crowded, making it ideal for personal training.

My personal trainer, Mr. An, was exceptionally knowledgeable and caring. He addressed my lower back injury and posture with tailored stretches and on-the-spot physical therapy. I can’t recommend An enough! There were numerous coaches for each discipline, catering to every level from beginner to pro. My boxing coaches, Tommy and Thien, were knowledgeable, highly motivating, and fun. The group boxing classes were fantastic, with plenty of coaches ensuring a personalized experience for everyone.

Huy, Thao, Jinx, Jossie, Mark, and the rest of the front desk personnel were incredibly friendly and helpful. Huy, my personal point of contact at the center, treated me like royalty, ensuring I had everything I needed, including scheduling classes and personal training.

The café staff were equally amazing! Huyen made great breakfasts every day, while Dylan prepared delicious lunches and dinners featuring both Western and local cuisines. Alex (my favorite) and Kan crafted the most delicious smoothies and coffee. Although the program includes lunch and dinner, I sometimes order additional meals to meet my caloric intake needs. I often found myself spending the whole day at the gym because it was so comfortable and inviting.

The club has a great outdoor pool next to a cozy Mexican restaurant, Sol, where I enjoyed dinner almost every night. The food was excellent, and the service from both front and back of house staff was great, especially from manager Kelly and servers Alice and Mikey.

Saving the best for last, I can't thank my host, Kevill, enough for his exceptional attention and support. He was always ready to provide information and made me feel at home at all times, even offering to take me to the local hospital or get me medicine when I wasn't feeling well. Kevill truly made this an unforgettable experience, and I am so grateful for that. He even took the time to send my wife a thank-you gift for booking with him—a true gentleman.

Overall, my month-long experience was excellent, and I will definitely do it again. It was a fantastic getaway for reconnecting with myself through an intensive and enjoyable fitness experience. If anyone wants real-life feedback, ask Kevill for my email and I would gladly answer any questions! And just a tip: Ho Chi Minh City is beautiful, but watch out for the motorcycles!

I had multiple injuries from playing sports and had put on a lot of weight; I just felt like I needed to do something new as both my mental and physical health were going downhill.

I chose this retreat as I saw that the retreat was in Vietnam, which is a country I knew I already loved, and that food and high-quality training was provided.

I lost around 7/8KG and it has put me on the right path with regards to my injuries and what my body is capable of given enough time and focus.

The coaches are very high quality at Saigon Sports Club and the staff there in general are just amazing.

There are some parts that are quite lonely as you spend a lot of time by yourself when you are not training so bring a kindle etc to keep yourself occupied.

The manager of the hotel you stay at (Kevill) is also an amazing person who makes a big effort to get you involved in tours and some nights out for meals or cinema on the weekend, really making you feel welcome.
